Feedback: History of Kosli language by Saket Sreebhushan Sahu
#1 Cite references wherever necessary. Especially, for the old poetries.
#2 If possible, try to get pictures/sketches of people like Juga Das, Kabi Chintamani etc etc. That will make the book even more attractive.
# 3 I remember during my childhood Parshuram, Ghubkudu etc used to come to my village. Do you know how oral poetries originated?
# 4 Would it be possible to use a flow diagram to show the historical progress of Kosli language?
# 5 Do you know the approximate number of Kosli words currently used by the speakers? How many words are already dead by now?
#6 Can you characterize modern Kosli writers according to their writing style and thinking? For example, inclination towards nature, culture, religion, Marxism, human rights, peace, feminism etc etc.
#7 Do you see any similarities between historical evolution of Kosli, Hindi, Odia, Bengali and Chatisgadi languages?
Overall the book is very good. I will let you know about other little things later.

-I have gone through som initial chapters. No doubt this is a commendable effort. However the typographical & spelling errors (Assuming the manuscriopt copy is proofread before publication) crept are really demotivatiing.
– One can identify several different spellings of the same words even in a single page. for eg. ‘Kuabar’ , “Khaiseen”- both refers to feeding, with different spellings and same pronounciation?
– The writer shgould have taken enough care to cite the reliable source of collection/excrepts.Without substantial evidences it seems to me more or less an abridged version of COLLOQUIAL folk songs/literature spasely distributed across the said geographical region.
– The collection is seemengly & most closely following diffent regional variations of dilects in the said region, such as: Sambalpuri , Sundargarhi, Laria, Balangir-dilect, Bargarh-sonepur dilect.
– While it follows the script of ODIA, the rational question is Should not it pay any heed to its SPELLING structure and rule of Grammar.
Can it bury all the rules of spelling, follow and write randomely without any logic. If it is so, It may chose some othe script as suitable and fits the bill.
-With chage of spelling the meaning and tone, emotion of words change! we should not forget that.
-Hope constructive suggestions will be incorporated in subsequent editions!
